Congratulations Cameron

Congratulations to Cameron Forlong, the Tauranga 12 year old, who has been selected as a reserve for the NZ Oceania Team in the 85cc 12-15 years category. This team will represent New Zealand at the Oceania Motocross Championships in Auckland  on 7th March 2010.

Reserve riders compete fully in the Oceania meeting however race points accumulated at the meeting will not contribute to NZ’s overall result. But, if a member of the NZ team does withdraw for whatever reason, then the reserve and his/her points take that rider’s place.

Fresh from his 1st place successes at Harrisville and the Valley Champs (click here for more info), Cameron is justifiably proud of his selection and plans on getting some mileage in on the Harrisville track this coming weekend.

Motorcycling Australia has advised that they are not in a position to field a full complement of 125cc riders as per the 2010 FIM rules, so MNZ has agreed to nominate a mix of 125cc and 250cc riders/bikes.

In his press release, Bryan Davidson, the MNZ Junior Motocross Commissioner, congratulated all those selected and encouraged them to take part in the Auckland Champs on Saturday 6th March, the day prior. The junior team selected is as follows:

65cc 10-12yrs

85cc 12-15yrs

125cc/250cc  15-18yrs:
