A remote TMCC reunion

Australian Historic Roadrace Champs were on last weekend at Lakeside in Qld, after many years of me badgering Robbie to show up at an historic meeting he vowed to roll up, so instead of going to the club dinner on the Saturday night, we held a Tauranga Motorcycle Club mini-reunion at Dave and Kath Keenan’s place, so vagabonds from the dim and distant past who rolled up included :

Dave Keenan and Kath, Robbie and Jeni Dean, Mike Riddell, Mark Dawson, Murray Hill, myself (Glenn Ducey)and several other friends and rellies. Mary Bridger (Mollard now) was at the meeting, but not the Saturday night barbecue.

It was an absolute hoot, Robbie spun us a few yarns about Dixie (I requested the Auckland Glass plumbing epic) and we had a look through Dave’s garage, had a few drinks and a barbie, a great night.

Through devious means, and with the help of Mike Sinclair, I sorted out an award from the Yamaha factory for Dave, as he’s been racing the same Yamaha TD2 for an amazing 44 years, Yamaha coughed up a certificate, and a race shirt signed at Misano by Lin Jarvis, Rossi and Lorenzo, so although his bike didn’t run well that weekend, Dave still had a big grin on his dial.

Probably the most remote TMCC reunion held yet...
