Acerbis 4 Hour Crosscountry

Quite a brilliant achievement on Saturday from Tauranga’s Aaron Wiltshier teamed with Hadleigh Knight from Atiamuri.

They had the fastest lap time of the day, they  placed 3rd overall and they won the Junior 16-19 Team class at the Acerbis 4 Hour Race in Taupo.

The future of the sport, in fact, looks solid as 4 out of the top 11 positons were taken by Junior riders.

Brad Groombridge rode an exceptional ride as well to take out the overall and the Big Bore Ironman title. This is the first time ever that an Ironman has taken out the overall title.

Callan May and Adrian Smith came home 2nd overall to win the  Big Bore Team category.  Simon Lansdaal was 4th but 1st of the Small Bore Ironmen.

Local riders  finishing on the podium in their classes also included:

Janelle Walker & Shannon Pepper (AK): 1st Team Women

Casey Waterhouse & Mitch Brady: 3rd Team Mixed

Reuben Steens was 3rd in the MotoMuck Junior 90 class. Click here to see the clip of the MotoMuck start.
