Prep for the Valley Champs

Patetonga

"We're carting in heaps of fresh clay and the track will be in absolute prime condition".  These are the words and the promise of the president of the Patetonga Motorcycle Club, Craig Cameron .   The club is running its annual Valley Champs at the Patetonga track on Sat 12th and Sunday 13th February and the club has high standards to live up to. 

This event has been running on the second weekend in February for longer than Craig can remember in the club's 25 year history. It has always provided a great 2 days of racing for riders and spectators alike, and this year, in particular, riders will have the opportunity to get some practice on the track that is scheduled to hold round 2 of the MX Nationals a couple of weeks later on February 27th.

The Saturday will have races for juniors, vets and clubmans and, on the Sunday, spectators will be able to watch the MX1, MX2, Senior 125, ATV and Women in action. Confirmed riders lining up include Damien King (pictured above), Hayden Clarke and Dion Picard amongst others.   

If you haven't got your entry in, go to the club website www.patetongamx.co.nz   and put it in now.  There is  still some room on the 40 rider start gates.
