Successful Maize Day

Welcome Bay

The Tauranga Motorcycle Club held a very successful Maize Paddock Fun Day at Welcome Bay on Sunday.

Brilliant blue skies, heaps of sunshine and 120 riders of all ages turned up to have a blast.

"It was touch and go whether it was happening or not" says Club President  Andrew Hawkless. " The maize has been late this year. It didn't get cut until 3 days before."

The minis  may have had to cope with some stubble that hadn't had time to dry and shrivel but  this was no problem for the bigger bikes as they carved  the paddock up into a defining black circuit.

Fun was definitely the operative word and another Fun Day is programmed for Sunday August 12th.
