The Fun Days are Back !

As the maize gets higher and higher, the same questions keep coming:

When is the maize getting cut?  When do the fun rides start?

For our local Bay of Plenty riders, the season starts again in May.

Sorry !  The Te Puke Event has been cancelled - the farmer is grassing the area.  However, do not despair, there will be other Maize Paddock Fun Days.  We'll keep you posted.

The Te Puke Motorcycle Club is organizing their first Maize Fun Day for 2012 at a new venue approximately 4km up Old Coach Road past the Paengaroa School and signposted from the main road.

It's on a Saturday, on the 12th May to be exact, because there are already too many clashing events scheduled for the Sundays. It starts at 10am and the entry fee is $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 15.   For more info, contact Phil on 021-533 151.

This is a free flow ride; you go at your own pace on a track built on rolling farm land.  There will be a Kids track & separate adults track.

Two rides are being hosted at this venue to raise money for the Westpac Tect Rescue Helicopter & Barnardos Pre School Te Puke.

Maize paddock fun days are the "Easter eggs" of motorcycling.  They are around for a short period, they're fun for all the family, maize-holicks get a huge buzz that can turn to a bit of an overdose and then everything calms down until the next year.

Maize paddocks drain well if there has been rain so they are great fun for all weather winter riding.

See you there!
