Te Puke Endurocross

If you're a rider and looking for something that's physical demanding and a good skills challenge or if you're a non-rider looking for a spectacular and exciting demonstration of 2 wheel agility, then head to the Te Puke A & P Show tomorrow, Saturday 7th February for the annual endurocross round organized by the Te Puke Motorcycle Club.

Puls Whibley, Warren Laugeson, Jake Whitaker, Adrian Smith and Chris Power, in fact all the top enduro riders except for Chris Birch, will be there. However, anyone who wants to enter, can still do so. No exclusions. Just be there by 9am.

The track has all the usual obstacles - logs, tyres, water hole, sand pit and truck deck (but no cars) - and 20 000 litres of water have been used to dampen things down. There is a seies of 5 stutter jumpsthat some of the good riders could triple.  The set up is a variation on the old but slightly easier for the average rider from a skill point of view. The physically demanding factor still applies.

Murray Jensen reports that he has created a special surprise that he calls the "glass mountain".  "We've got dirt on the top of logs with a truck tarpaulin on top and the obstacle is two after the water hole (think wet tyres) and then there's a turn on the tarp," reports Murray.

Of course, as it is part of the A & P Show Day, there are heaps of other activities and fun fair things to do.

See you there!
