The Throttle Blacks

NZ’s First Lady Swinger

Tauranga’s Tracey Bryan will be New Zealand’s first lady swinger when she heads to the Isle of Man next year to compete in the sidecar racing.

Tracey will be swinging for Aucklander Chris Lawrence who is well initiated to the oldest motor-cycle racing circuit still in use and to its idiosyncrasies – he has been to the iconic event 5 times before.  For Tracey it will be a first but she herself has a wealth of experience and accomplishments behind her both as a passenger and as a rider (usually on the stand out pink machine) on the Australasian side-car scene.

Together, Chris and Tracey form the New Zealand Throttle Blacks (after the All Blacks and the Tall Blacks... why not ?) and they are currently raising funds to get themselves over to the UK for the 5 weeks of prep and competition. $20,000 is required.

This Saturday evening (20th September 2014), a fundraising QUIZ NIGHT is being held at the Tauranga Citizens Club. There will be special guests, an auction of goods, spot prizes, nibbles and drinks and a very entertaining host. The doors open at 6pm, the Quiz starts at 7pm and the cost is $20 per person.  It will be a fun evening.

About Tracey Bryan

About the IOM TT:

The International Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) Race is held on the Snaefell Mountain Course.  Each lap measures 37.74 miles (60.7 km) and takes in over 200 bends while climbing from sea level to an altitude of over 1,300 ft (396 m). This circuit is the epitome of the natural road course, all the roads used being ordinary public highways closed for the racing and practice sessions. The TT races are extremely dangerous because riders achieve high speeds on very narrow, twisting streets, roads and lanes flanked by stone walls and buildings.
