New Number 1 for Tauranga
Andrew Hawkless New President
Andrew Hawkless is the new man at the helm of the Tauranga Motorcycle Club.
An ex-mx rider from the 80s with a background in negotiation and management, Andrew got back into the motocross scene about four years ago when his sons Evan and Connor, pictured with him at left, started riding and racing.
“It is an honour to be chosen as Club President” says Andrew. “Last year I was on the club committee and got a feel for what was happening. I am keen to settle everything down and build a fresh start. There’s some hard work ahead but with goal setting and formats in place, the club’s targets will be achieved”.
Good news as well, Andrew has the support of a 14-strong committee which includes several new faces, all keen to promote the club.
The elected committee is:
President: Andrew Hawkless
Vice President & Event Co-ordinator: Paul Callinan
Treasurer: Nicki Blake
Secretary: Bronwen Atkinson
Senior MX: Craig Jeffrey
Mini MX: Roscoe Fraser-Brown & Giles Hunt
Trials Rep: Warwick Merriman
Photographer: Bridgette Tolfrey
Members: Darren Woodward, Dion Wiremu, Kelvin Meredith, Lindsay Beck, Logan Blackburn & Jane Dean.
