Wheels 4 CURE KIDS
Fraser Cover Tauranga
Fraser Cove Shopping Centre is the place to be on Saturday 16th January.
Wheels 4 Cure Kids is back with a display of freestyle MX and BMX that has to be seen to be believed. Levi Sherwood FMX Redbull Xfighters Champion), Nick Franklin, event organizer Luke Price, Mitch McHardy and Paul Langland aka Langers are among the sensational FMX and BMX riders who have donated their prowess and time to help raise funds for CURE KIDS so that vital medical research can continue to find the cures for serious health conditions that affect many of our children.
A BMX – FMX showdown has been programmed. The BMXers will be on the Mega Roll-Ins while the FMXers go over the top on a diagonal !
“Spectators are guaranteed a totally amazing show”, says Cameron Keogh from major sponsor, World's End. “There are no half measures with Levi. Last year, after his second ride, we had to ask him to tone it down a little – we were the scared ones!”
Jed Mildon, alias the Warrior, the first guy to achieve a BMX quadruple back flip , will be entertaining spectators on the microphone. He was part of the original line-up but unfortunately broke his ankle a couple of days ago – no, not as you might imagine, doing death defying tricks with Nitro Circus, but he overcooked a jump, just having fun, normal like, in the hills.
This year the approximately one hour shows have been programmed at specific times: 3pm, 5pm and 7pm but come early or stay on post-show - there’s plenty to see and do. The carnival rides galore and activities for kids start at 10am. There’s live music, giveaways, BBQ and raffles – one for a new KTM SX50 ! Check out the classic car and hot rod vehicle displays throughout the day and after the 5pm show a heap of really cool items will be up for grabs with the Charity Auction.
Entry into the best viewing area is by gold coin donation.
NOTE : PARKING is on the Tauranga Intermediate School Field. Security will be present.
A show not worth missing. See you there.
