Race Report: Suzuki Six Hour  October 6th 2012:

“It’s an awesome race but exhausting so huge kudos to all the Ironmen competitors” says Janelle,  who was there in the team section and who, with Shannon Pepper, had the distinction of being the only Two Women team in the race. They finished 5th in the Under 200 2T class that was won by Michael Skinner & Freddie Milford-Cottam.  “It was a typical Sean Clarke event”, Janelle continues, “challenging with ruts and tree roots, quite tricky, tight and technical.  The track was quite long.  About half way through there was a point where I could see the pit tents and thought great, almost at the end of the lap, but there was more to do. I wanted to give the 6 Hour a go. At the end I was tired and sore but I’m really pleased to have finished.  A year ago I probably wouldn’t have.”

Her husband agrees. “Part of the course was a downhill with a couple of zigzags they’d used for the 6 Day. Janelle stopped at the top last time we were over there and that day the downhill was dry. This time it was wet, but this time she went down!”

30th September 2011:   Yay now I have proof I have done the tyres!!!

After my husband decided to start riding I thought since I have horse riding experience it would help, and it did. I would join in and give it a go and I've been riding for only 2 months now and enjoying it immensely. Its been a good hobbie for us both to enjoy. Just love that feeling that I've managed to get up the hill or down it. I have just upgraded from a 125 to 250, and I encourage any ladies starting to start small so you dont scare yourself, then build up from there. Hoping to do my first trail competition in April so wish me luck. Cheers, Janelle Walker
