The Supersport races were the closest , Bruce just missing out on the top spot by a fraction of a second in both races. Race 1 was won by Guy Martin (Suzuki) and race 2 was won by William Dunlop (Yamaha). Both races could have gone either way.
Speaking after race 2 Willam Dunlop said " Bruce and I were side by side from the Hairpin and I just held him off to the line. I needed that win."
Bruce Anstey commented . "William learnt from last year to not leave a gap so I just couldn't get away from him."
Earlier in the Supersport race 1 it had been just as close. Winner Guy Martin commented after the race "Bruce was on it wasn't he , I had a bit more pace than him and thought I'd got the better deal with a backmarker on the final lap but he he still got past me. He ran a really tight line at the hairpin and ran a bit wide on the exit so I grabbed the opportunity."
In the Superbike races . the racing was again close with battles all the way for Bruce in race 1 he finished fourth after making a mistake on the last lap. In race two he took yet another second place after a titanic battle. Connor Cummins finished third after Michael Dunlop disappeared on the last lap.
The Kiwi rider has a remarkable history at the Ulster Grand Prix. Finishing on the podium every year since 2001 and still holds the outright lap record.
When asked about next year on BBC Radio. Bruce answered " Well I'm still fast enough , no real reason not to see me next year all going well".
Bruce also united with another Kiwi Legend when he rode the Britten V1000 on a display ride around the circuit.
