David Knight Will Miss Event
ISDE 2013
RECESSION NEWS! DAVID KNIGHT SAYS THAT HE CAN’T AFFORD TO GO TO THE ISDT
Manxman David Knight has unfortunately had to withdraw from racing the 2013 ISDE to be held in Sardinia. David was chosen to ride for the Great Britain trophy team but after a long hard think, has made the difficult decision to miss this years event as he simply can not afford financially to do the event with the 100% commitment that is needed.
“It’s been a long and very difficult decision for me to withdraw from this years ISDE which is the centenary of the event. Financially I can just not afford to do it.Running my own team this year with the help of my sponsors has been tough going especially doing 3 races in South America and the X-Games in the USA. It’s very tough for everyone at the moment but especially for small teams so after a long hard think and looking at it financially, I can not afford to go. It’s the only choice I have but it’s not easy to take, as the ISDE is very close to my heart and being the only British rider in 99 years to win the event outright, makes it even harder.
“I’d like to thank the ACU for the opportunity and team manager Dusty for understanding my decision. Good luck to both Great Britain trophy and junior teams and hopefully I’ll be in a better situation next year to compete.”
