Sheehan & his double flip rule in Munich
X-Fighters 2014
Josh Sheehan sees off a strong challenge from Taka Higashino to take the win in Munich showdown.
In the final, Australia's Sheehan claimed his first victory of the season thanks to a double flip that also won the award for best trick of the evening. Higashino tried every combo in the book: cliff hanger, helicopter and heart attack, but it all came up short against the inspired Aussie in Munich.
"I'm really happy! I haven't had a win for a while... I closed the gap with Levi, but I'm not really thinking about that. I'm just going to take the next round in Pretoria as it comes," said Josh Sheehan after his victorious podium ceremony.
Tom Pagès said good-bye too early
Tom Pagès said good-bye to the German crowd earlier than expected. He was unable to land a bike flip in the first round while trying to beat the local rider Luc Ackermann, who went on to take fourth place in the contest.
"I'm sad," said an understandably disappointed Pagès after his crash. "The bike went so high that when I've tried to catch it she was too far gone. I know it's a dangerous trick, but I'll try it again next time."
