Bobryshev wins Saturday

HRC rider Evgeny Bobryshev has won the MXGP qualification race at  at Mantova today, beating home Garoboldi Honda rider Tim Gajser and Max Nagl of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team.

Nagl led early from Bobryshev and Gajser. Cairoli was back in around 12th position and Chad Reed was 20th early. Nagl continued to lead with Bobryshev trying hard to make a pass on the veteran German. Townley was down in the first corner and soon after Searle was also involved in a crash.

Top ten after two laps was Nagl, Bobryshev, Gajser, Butron, Paulin, Van Horebeek, Coldenhoff, Potisek, Tixier and Valentin.

Bobryshev made his way past Nagl, and Gajser started closing on the Husky rider. A few laps later Gajser went into second, but was miles behind Bobryshev, around five seconds. Boby getting the win ahead of Gajser and Nagl.

Ben Townley was 10th in the timed practice and qualified 12th.

Herlings wins Saturday

Red Bull KTM Factory rider Jeffrey Herlings has won the Saturday qualification race this afternoon. Herlings go the win after Dylan Ferrandis led, but fell with two laps to go.

“He made a small crash,” Herlings said. “He tipped over in the corner entering the pit area, and I was catching him quick and tomorrow its ten minutes longer. I just need a good start tomorrow.”

Paturel led early before Ferrandis made his way past, and Herlings gated around fifth place and made his way past a handful of riders. By the time Herlings got into second he was 11 seconds behind Ferrandis, although with two laps to go Ferrandis slipped over and Herlings wheelied past for the win by six seconds.
