Round One of the new AMA Women's Motocross Series, promoted by MX Sports, debuted in conjunction with the Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross in Daytona, FL, on March 9 and 10, and Mackenzie Tricker served notice that she will be the one you'll have to beat if you plan on winning the 2014 championship.

Motorcycle Superstore Bell Helmet-sponsored Tricker is one of Australia's rising female athletes and is obviously on track to become one of America's top motocross stars. The rough Daytona Supercross-style track and the two-moto format was the perfect fit for the 2013 Loretta Lynn's Amateur Motocross Women's Champion.

"I got a killer holeshot and rode consistent to take moto one," claimed Tricker. "I didn't get a very good jump out of the gate, but I was still there at the first corner and snuck through the inside to get the Motorcycle Superstore Holeshot Award. I then pulled a comfortable gap and kept it at that. I feel I rode tight and made a number of mistakes but it's a good base to start with.

"It was a good start to the series, I learned some new things this weekend and now know where I need to improve. Back to work this week in preparation for Round Two in two weeks in Freestone, Texas."
