Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin, fresh from becoming the "King of Geneva" for 2013, hit a major road block leading up to the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series after tearing his ACL during practice. He's set to undergo surgery for the injury in France, but torn ACLs often take months to heal 100% and it remains to be seen when the KTM rider will be able to return to the track.

According to a team press release, Musquin sustained the injury after putting his foot down in a turn and it was first thought to be a minor injury, but later scans revealed the extent of the damage. Musquin finished the 2013 250 Supercross East division just three points shy of the title and was a favorite among the class to contend for the championship in 2014.

“This is an unfortunate injury, but we know Marvin will do the all steps necessary to recover as quickly as possible and come back when he is 100%,” said Red Bull KTM Factory Team Manager Roger DeCoster.
