The rough and sandy circuit at Dundowran Park, Hervey Bay in Queensland is the venue for Round 7 of the 10 Round Australian MX Series on Sunday 28 July.

6 Kiwis will be amongst the field.

Pro Open/MX1:

Cody Cooper (Rockstar Energy Suzuki) has, over the last two rounds, shown the form when he blitzed the top Australians at the New Zealand Nationals. He is now in 4th just 9 points behind Billy Mackenzie in 3rd.

Kieran Scheele (Full Force Racing Honda) Kieran had a hard day at Appin. In Race 1 he dnf'd when he snapped his rear brake lever in the first lap whilst in 5th positon. Race 2 didn't go the best, having a big crash in Lap 3. He finished the race in 20th and fortunate to sustain no injuries.  Late to join the Championship from MX2 he has 11 points down in 45th place - he still has 117 MX2 points and holds 17th!

Lites/MX2:

Like Cody, Rhys Carter (Suzuki) is showing good form of late and just moved into the Top 10 of this highly competitive Class.

Kayne Lamont (KTM) crashed in the last race at Appin and dnf' -  he was not as bad as originally thought and the Hospital cleared him that night.  At Appin Rhys picked up 50 points whereas Kayne only 20, so Rhys moved one place ahead of Kayne in the Championship - by just 6 points.

Keen contest between these two as to who will get the nod for the MX2 ride for Team New Zealand to the MXoN in Germany at the end of September.

Under 19s is now called MXD.

The Championship is actually led by Takaka's Hamish Harwood (KTM) who had a hiccup at Appin and shortened his lead to 19 points.

Tauranga's Logan Blackburn (Yamaha) is also in the Top 10 in 9th
