And in the Northern Winter...
Give-Me-5, Monster Cup & Bercy SX
Monster Energy and Red Bull have really given the sport a huge boost with their support and now the support continues as a Winter that we won’t forget in a hurry soon gets underway.
And former FIM World MX2 Champion Ken Roczen (above - image Simon Cudby) is going to be a busy man, with first the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations on September 28 and 29, then a week later a major International Motocross in Madrid, followed by two weeks later the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas, before ending his “winter break” with the Bercy Supercross on November 8, 9 and 10.
While the winter in Europe often meant some great racing at the Bercy Supercross, that is always run the first weekend in November each year, we now get to also see another major International Motocross race, something we have not had in a long, long time.
RED BULL Give me Five Motocross International - 5 – 6 October 2013, Madrid
The best from America and Europe go head to head in what could be a really nice return to a major International Motocross in Europe.
Antonio Cairoli, Ryan Dungey, Marvin Musquin, Jeffrey Herlings and Ken Roczen up against Clement Desalle, David Philippaerts and selected Spanish riders Jose Butron, Jonathan Barragan and more.
Fifteen riders will be seeded into this race and its looking really exciting, just a week after the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations.
The excitement and adrenaline are secured because the races will be five laps. In each of the rounds will only remove a rider, therefore, to the end they all have a chance of qualifying for the next round.
Line-up: RYAN DUNGEY (USA), TONY CAIROLI (ITA), CLEMENT DESALLE (BEL), KEN ROCZEN (GER), JEFFREY HERLINGS (NED), MARVIN MUSQUIN (FRA), DAVID PHILIPPAERTS (ITA), DYLAN FERRANDIS (FRA), JONATHAN BARRAGÁN (ESP), JOSÉ BUTRON (ESP), VALENTIN TEILLET (FRA)

MONSTER ENERGY CUP – Las Vegas – October 19, 2013
Two weeks later it is over to Las Vegas for the Monster Energy Cup on Saturday, October 19. Now this is of course a big race, just a pity it isn’t a Motocross race and not Supercross. With so many Supercross races thoughought the year I struggle to get excited about this event, but then again I have never attended it.
Rider lineup - Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, Justin Barcia, Chad Reed, Davi Millsaps, Trey Canard, Eli Tomac, Ken Roczen, Dean Wilson, Andrew Short, Marvin Musquin
BERCY SUPERCROSS – Paris, France – November 8, 9, 10
A couple of weeks after the Las Vegas event Ken Roczen heads to Paris, France for a big event. Bercy Supercross will be a massive race this year, with a really good lineup of riders on 8, 9 & 10 November at Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy.
Red Bull KTM Factory rider Ken Roczen up against the American heroes Justin Barcia, Trey Canard, Andrew Short and leading Grand Prix rider Gautier Paulin.
