Josh Coppins launched Altherm JCR Yamaha at the stylish location of the Team’s naming rights sponsor Altherm Windows Systems in Auckland city last night.

Breaking new terrain in NZ’s Motocross industry the former double World Championship runner-up brought together partners, invited guests and media for a promotional evening of 2013/2014 Altherm JCR Yamaha Team.

The unique experience highlighted Josh Coppins commitment to secure longevity for the Racing Team. Josh says ‘I’ve tried to look outside the box, to gain support from outside the industry and amalgamate people who are passionate about motorsport from various business sectors’.

Coppins fronts the challenge of gaining sponsorship within NZ, with the knowledge that not one NZ dollar funded his professional career from 1995. With around 150 Grand Prix races and 31 Podiums over 15 years Grand Prix racing in Europe, Josh has put his ‘never-say-die attitude..’ to the test yet again.

‘I’ve had to learn how to balance varying sponsors goals and adapt these to JCR Yamaha. The return on investment (ROI) from sponsors is not just results from racing. Promoting Brand awareness, social media, sales, image, networking are all part of JCR Yamaha’s sponsorship package’.

All of which begs the question: is a reciprocal relationship possible between business and sport sectors?

Altherm Windows Systems certainly thinks so. Speaking on behalf of the company, Rob Campion states ‘to raise Brand awareness through association of Josh Coppins, inclusive of his professionalism, commitment and passion for motorsport increases our profile among a wider reach of people’.

Completing the event compare and long-time friend Neil Ritchie paid tribute to Josh’s outstanding professional Motocross career, highlighting that the new level of partnership Josh has secured has not been seen since the 1980’s’.

Further introductions of Altherm JCR Yamaha Team: 2013 MX1 # 3, Billy MacKenzie, 2013 MX2 # 1 Scott Columb, 2013 125cc # 1 Cameron Vaughan, plus satellite rider’s MX1 Ethan Martens and 125cc Logan Blackburn rounded off a successful evening for all.
